On holidays and during seasons (Father's Day, Christmas, Easter, May Day, and Mother's Day), the restaurant sets a tasty and versatile menu tailored to the theme.

Whether it's Mother's Day or Father's Day, families are pampered with abundant and delicious treats from a buffet brimming with delights for the whole family.

In December, a festive Christmas table is offered, featuring traditional Christmas delicacies and an atmospheric setting.

Modern Karelian Feast Meal

Modern Karelian Feast Meal is compiled respecting Karelian tradition, spiced with the unique character of our own region.

The absolute hit products of the meal are the freshly baked Karelian pies and Ilomantsi vatruskas, made in the house's 'piirootsuppu' or Traditional bakery.

The meal begins in the Karelian tradition with a versatile appetizer buffet, adorned with various fish appetizers and abundant salads.

For the main course, enjoy cream-glazed salmon and Karelian stew, slow-cooked in the oven, with sides. For dessert, forest berries are savored in the form of berry kissel, along with coffee and brewed tea.

Modern Karelian Feast Meal 29€/person, 14.50€/children ages 5-12, and children under 5 years old free of charge.

Mother's Day 2026

The second Sunday in May is Mother's Day. <3

Did you know that Mother's Day was first celebrated in Finland already in 1918?

The best Mother's Day gift is for the whole family to gather around a common table, and here, the whole family is pampered with abundant and delicious treats. Mother's Day celebration essentially includes a Mother's Day lunch, which is served here on Sunday, 10.5.2026 in three sittings.

The buffet includes a selection of Traditional bakery pastries, an Abundant salad and appetizer buffet, two delicious main courses with sides, not forgetting layer cake with coffee. You can book your spot for your desired sitting now.

Idän Hehku is a lyrical journey towards the core of Eastern Finnish identity by musician Janne Vänskä, stage artist Henry Räsänen, and performance technician Antti Laasonen.


The performance follows the adventure of an Eastern man in the borderlands of Savo and Karelia. During his journey, he seeks himself and connection to another person through landscape, language, and mythology.

In the hour-long stage production, poetry and soundscapes combine with visual elements and movement language in a multi-sensory way. Changing emotional states, places, and landscapes entwine the viewer in a play of contrasts, aiming for glimpses of the Eastern soul-landscape.

The text material for the work originates from the pens of Eastern Finnish writers. It includes texts by Heikki Turunen, Eino Kettunen, Martti Issakainen, Ari Jäntti, Lauri Jauhiainen, Hannu Pirinen, and Mikko Lauronen. The performance also features music with lyrics by Henry Räsänen and composed by Janne Vänskä.

Between 17:00-18:30, our restaurant serves Karelian tapas as a buffet (BUFFET 25€/person)

Christmas 2026

The Christmas anticipation at the Karelian log house is full of flavors, scents, and atmosphere.

The Christmas lunch begins with a versatile appetizer buffet, adorned with various fish appetizers and salads. Hand-baked pies and vatruskas with egg butter are a treat for the taste buds. Christmas ham, slow-cooked in the oven overnight, melts in your mouth and is, of course, enjoyed with homemade Jallu mustard. The house's Karelian stew, as well as carrot and turnip casseroles, complete the warm meal's taste experience. For dessert, cranberry kissel with whipped cream is served, and at the end of lunch, you can enjoy coffee/festive tea and gingerbread cookies.

Come and enjoy the Christmas atmosphere alone or with your family, or bring your staff, customers, or partners to feast.

Welcome to celebrate the spring festival with us and enjoy a May Day brunch.

In the traditional setting of Parppeinpirtti, you can enjoy abundant delicacies in the company of friends, relatives, and family.

As usual, the buffet is laden with an abundant selection of salads, cold appetizers, and for the main course, May Day delicacies such as various sausages with house Jallu mustard, meatballs with sides, not forgetting the Traditional bakery's mini pies and vatruskas. The brunch is crowned with a versatile dessert buffet and homemade mead.

"May Day is also an important holiday for us, as on 1.5.2016, a change of ownership took place in the company and Pirttihirmu stepped into the shoes of an entrepreneur :) This May Day marks 10 years of entrepreneurship, and it will be celebrated with a May Day brunch offering local Hermannin sparkling wine Säde and a non-alcoholic version Raikas to start.
