You can now enjoy the music from the Iljan pruazniekka album tour, released on 9.5., in the hill landscapes of Ilomantsi at Parppeinpirtti. Il’lan pruazniekka (Finnish: Iljan praasniekka) is Loimolan Voima's third album and it is a tribute to the Karelian praasniekka tradition.
Loimolan Voima has been making new Karelian-language music since 2018. Over 120 played gigs have not only made the band famous, but also increased awareness of the existence of the indigenous Karelian language in Finland. For many listeners, Loimolan Voima's music has been an incentive to speak the language and embrace it.
The song Matkalaulu, released on Blahošen'nan Day 25.3.26, tells the story of Loimolan Voima. The band has a broad audience and has been embraced by children, youth, adults, and older populations alike. The song describes traveling to a gig, which for the duo is a shared celebration of the band and the
audience – a pruazniekka, as it is expressed in Karelian.
Pre-party in the poetry village in the spirit of a Karelian summer evening – BES'S'ODAT & ILLAČUT
In the heart of the summer evening, in Ilomantsi's Parppeinvaara poetry village, we meet again with dance, music, and Karelian togetherness!
In BES'S'ODAT, we join the Karelian movement easily and relaxed, learning Karelian dances and dance games together, led by the already familiar Minna Karttunen and Jyrki Haapala. The rhythm of the dances and the light of the summer evening transport us to the heart of living tradition – joyfully, together, and without pressure.
This year, the music for the Bes's'odat dances is provided by master accordionist Marko Kotilainen (Golden Accordion 2011) and internationally renowned flutist Robert Tobin, who create a lively and rich soundscape for the evening.
After Bes's'odat, we move to Parppeinpirtti's ILLAČUT, where the atmosphere is brought to its peak by Loimolan Voima, originating from North Karelia and having gained great popularity. Expect a powerful and engaging Karelian music evening, where tradition breathes modern times.
Bring out your Karelian tradition – dress for the summer evening!
We invite everyone to join in celebrating the summer evening with attire. You can arrive in a feresi, Karelian shirt, parts of traditional costume, traditional footwear, or with a modern Karelian touch – or simply in a summer outfit in which you feel comfortable and can celebrate. The most important thing is to be present. Together we create a pleasant evening where everyone's style is part of the whole.
